What can cause the unit to block?

(but not the Sanishower or Sanivite) Cotton, cloth, string (e.g.
sanitary towels, tampons, cotton wool buds, nappy liners etc) as well as objects
made of wood, plastic, rubber (condoms) polythene sheet etc may block or jam
Saniflo units. Moist wipes also tend to cause blockages.

Answer:
No, they don't function correctly when fitted to syphonic pans.
Question:
Can I disinfect and clean the unit?
Answer:
Yes, you can use most domestic disinfectants (bleach, domestos type products
etc). avoid foaming varieties which may be agitated by the pump action. Do not
use strong acids, descalants or solvents (such as white spirit).
Question:
Is the range noisy in operation?
Answer:
Saniflo state no, but the noise factor is determined by the way the unit was
fitted and obviously the location. The sound of the motor is often drowned out
by the noise of the cistern refilling. The reason why people complain of
the noise is because it is an unfamiliar sound and therefore more noticeable
then a general flushing sound which we have all lived with for a life time.
However, to ensure you do not create a noise factor on installation, please note
the following:
- The Saniflo unit should not
stand on bare floorboards, which can act as a soundboard, causing resonance.
It is advisable to insulate with carpeting, underlay, rubber matting, foam
or other suitable vibration absorbing material.
- Ensure the Saniflo is not
jammed against either the WC pan or the wall, thus causing resonance.
- Ensure pipework is correctly
clipped to the wall/floor joists, as vibration and noise may otherwise occur
in the pipework itself.
Question:
Can I use a Saniflo macerator with a sink and kitchen waste disposal unit, a washing
machine or a dishwasher?
Answer:
Yes, but only the Sanivite will operate correctly in this location.
