How do you get the information?
We access information from the top databases.

Why Missing People? Why not a search engine?
Search engines are not designed to find people where they live, but
only where they are referred to on the Internet, for example their
E-mail address and / or home page address, if they have one. Our access
to the databases we use, and our knowledge of them, allows M & S
Services to provide our clients with top quality, current information at
a reasonable price, without the retention of a private detective.

But what about others who say they offer the same
service?
Very simple. Try us out! If we cannot obtain
any results with information supplied to us by you, our service is free.
If we do NOT deliver, it costs you nothing.
Top of page
Is this legal?
All information M & S Services provides is obtained without breaking
the law. Legally, this information is available to you
just as if you retained a private investigator at £75.00 per hour plus
expenses. So, yes, what we do and what we provide to you is legal.

Could I do this myself without your help?
Certainly. If you had experience, and were allowed access to
and knew how to use these private databases to assemble the dossier you
need, you could do it yourself. Otherwise, you need the services of a
company such as M & S Services.

Do you guarantee your information?
We provide a very specific
GUARANTEE: if
we do not succeed, we will credit you back in full the payment you made
to test our service.
Top of page
How long does it take?
On almost all searches, you will usually receive the results within 24 hours
by return E-mail. If for any reason it takes longer, we will notify you
by E-mail that we will be taking an additional 24 to 48 hours to
complete the search. Such an extension beyond the typical 72 hours is
usually related to either a heavy backlog of requests for our service or
technical problems at one of the databases.

Does it matter if it has been a long time between
contacts for the person I'm looking for?
Not really. People have been found where the period without contact
has been over 60 years! Often, a person may have been in the same
location for many years. In fact, it is usually easier looking for
someone missing a number of years than it is looking for someone missing
just a few months.

What if the person I am looking for is deceased?
If you suspect the person may be deceased, we can run a Death Index
Search for you which may be able to confirm your suspicions. Otherwise,
during our normal searches we would expect to be looking for living
persons. We would point out, though, that it is not unusual to find a
listing in our data for someone who has been deceased for a number of
years if, for example, that person is a man and his spouse has left a
telephone listing in his name.
Am I guaranteed of finding my person using your
service?
No, we could not give you that guarantee, nor could anyone else
without charging a great deal more for the service. In the event of an
unsuccessful search, you will be credited back the full amount.

Are there people who cannot be found?
Certainly, but they are a relatively small percentage. People who are
trying not to be found and change their name, or use another Social
Security number (not legal but done), move frequently, etc. may not be
found at all without extensive, costly and time consuming investigative
work. Our success rate is over 93% so the odds are excellent that we can
and will find that person you seek.

Do I need to hire a private investigator or other
search consultant?
Maybe (see previous answer), but most often not. It depends upon the
circumstances and what information you know about your party. There are
cases of people who have spent thousands of pounds using consultants
and investigators with no success, when they could have spent less than
£50.00 and had their results in a few days.

Is searching using a Social Security number a good
way to search and, if so, how can I get someone's Social Security
number?
Using a Social Security number is one of the best ways to search.
Social Security numbers cannot be obtained from the Social Security
Administration or other government entities. However you may be able to
find one from your own research. If you are looking for a family member,
documents with that person's name on them such as tax returns, driver
licenses and often divorce decrees, will usually have the Social
Security number on them. If you have the Social Security
number, we typically can find that person very quickly.

Will the Social Security Administration help me
locate someone?
No. They are prevented by law from giving out information on
someone's whereabouts.

Is it more difficult searching for a woman if all I
know is her name?
Yes, if there is a good possibility that she is no longer going by
the same name. Try searching for male relatives that may be able to help
you. Also, if the last name is at all unusual, searching for anyone with
that last name will produce one or more relatives previously unknown to
you that may be able to help you further your search. This information
would be provided to you as well.

Can you help find biological parents?
Certainly. If you have basic information such as your natural
mother's maiden and married name and her date of birth, for example, the
odds are excellent that we can locate your biological parents.
