A Muswell Hill primary school has been praised by Ofsted
inspectors for the quality of teaching and it's head's leadership.
All the lessons at St James C of E School, Woodside Avenue, were assessed as satisfactory
or better, 35 per cent were good or excellent and were considered well-planned.
The report also praised the headteacher and staff saying that the teachers had high
expectations of their pupils and had positive relationships with them.
The report commended the children on their positive attitudr to teaching and learning,
something which was reflected in their in their national test results.
The key areas for improvement include encouraging teachers and pupils to work together as
partners.
Headteacher Carol O'Brien said: "We are delighted to have had such a positive
Ofsted report, the children and teaching staff have all worked very hard."
"However, we are not complacent. The report has identified some areas for us to work
on and we have already begun to address these".
