A Brief History of Muswell Hill
Muswell Hill was once part of the Forest of Middlesex. Tracks along the higher ground were made by man where the views were better and the going was drier. The Romans came and left evidence of their stay in the form of coins found near Muswell Hill Road, and in the remains of pottery kilns in Highgate Woods.

The Natural History of Haringey's Ancient Woodlands
Haringey is most fortunate in possessing no less than than five distinct ancient woods.  These are Highgate Wood, Queens Wood, Coldfall Wood, Bluebell Wood and North Wood.

The History of Alexandra Palace
Alexandra Palace first opened in 1873 as "The People’s Palace" to provide the Victorians with a great environment and recreation centre. Situated in 196 acres of parkland, with spectacular views over the Capital, the Palace, joined by a branch line of the Great Northern Railway to Highgate, attracted thousands of people who came by train, carriage or on foot.
