CORGI (The Council For Registered Gas Installers) is the National Watchdog For Gas Safety.

CORGI’s role is to protect the public from unsafe gas installations and to ensure gas work is carried out safely and competently by registered gas installers.

CORGI is the body given the responsibility by the Health and Safety Authorities to maintain a register of competent gas installers in Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man.

CORGI’s mission is to continually promote and enhance gas safety, standards and quality in a professional and ethical manner

Aims and Objectives

  • To maintain an up-to-date register of gas installation businesses

  • To ensure gas installers are aware of the requirement to register

  • To ensure gas installers on the register are competent

  • To provide gas installers with information, advice and guidance on safe working practices

  • To encourage to employ registered gas installers

  • To inform the public about and raise awareness of the importance of gas safety

In achieving these objectives CORGI must operate within
Criteria laid down by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE)
