A long and eventually successful campaign fought by the local residents, shopkeepers, and heritage watchdogs, to save the 100 year old parade of shops in Wetherill Road, N10 is evident in the way the shops have now expanded and developed their wares.
The setup is not too far removed from the original Edwardian developement. There is Vicky's 'Piece of Cake' which is a traditional cake making shop that has a mouth watering window display.
There is Nadia, who has just taken over the news agents 'Good News' and is expanding it into a delicatessen and light refreshments outlet.
Also in the parade of shops is Sally, of 'Wetherills Furnishing' with an excellent selection of second hand period and antique furniture, plus Barry and Izzy's delightful 'Organic Backwater' fruit veg and health food store, has grown considerably and now includes a
coffee and tearoom area. On the corner, 'Liams Reclamations' is a must when it comes to search for the unusual and specific for you home.
