Sally and Lorinda

Six year old Princess Sally knocked on the bathroom door. "Holly!" she called.
"Please come out. You've been in there for half an hour. I need to wash my hair."
Eight year old Holly called back."You can't use the shower. It's out of order,.""How
are you washing, then?" Sally asked."I can hear water running." "I'm using the
sink," Holly answered. Sally groaned and started up the stairs to the other bathroom.
She had wanted so much to try out the new shower. When Sally reached the other
bathroom, she rattled the handle and yelled,"Is anybody in here?" "Yes," someone
called back. Sally could hear her oldest sister, Princess Dolly. She was ten years old.
Princess Polly was nine years old. "Do you need to wash your hair?" Dolly called.
"Yes," Sally relplied. "How did you know?" "Just guessed," Dolly answered."Use the
other bathroom." "I can't," Sally said."The shower is out of order and Holly is washing
her hair in the sink" "Go to Dove Brook to wait," Dolly suggested. Dove Brook was a
pretty brook with doves flying around it. It was right next to Cave Terror. "Okay," Sally
called. Dove Brook sounded like a peaceful place to spend time.

She walked to Dove Brook and sat down to wait until the one of the bathrooms was
unoccuppied. Horrible laughter came from inside Cave Terror. Sally jumped and turned
around just in time to see a witch go in. She was carrying a pretty mermaid with long
black hair and a blue tail. Sally gasped. That mermaid was Lorinda! All of the witches
were trying to put her in their brew to make it taste better. But Lorinda was too smart for
them. This was the first time that she had actully been captured. Saly thought fast. She
ran home and grabbed her sword. When she got back to Dove Brook she did the mosty
bravest thing any princess would do. She went right into Cave Terror! Cave Terror was
a dark, dark, place. Sally hid behind some extra cauldrons. She looked around her hiding
spot. To her surprise, there was Lorinda! "Lorinda," Saly whispered. Lorinda turned her
head. "Who is it?" she asked in a whisper. "It's Princess Sally," Sally whispered back.
Lorinda smiled in relief. "Will you help me get out of here?" she asked, quietly. Sally nodded.
Lorinda smiled again. "I'll distract them," Sally explained. "When they aren't looking, get out
of here!" Lorinda nodded, nervously. "I hope it works," she whispered. Sally crawled into a
cauldron and screamed.

Then, as the witches came over quickly, Sally pulled the lid down and clutched her sword.
As the witches bent over to look inside an empty cauldron, Lorinda crawled out of the cave.
But one of the witches spotted her and yelled,"Our mermaid! After her!" They all started
after Lorinda. Just then, Sally jumped out of the cauldron and whipped her sword around,
cutting a witch badly. The witch howled and Sally scratched another. The other witch hid
behind a cauldron. But Sally cut her. Their blood was grey. Sally heard a splash as Lorinda
jumped into the Dove Brook. She turned around and raced back to the castle and didn't
stop until she was safe in her bedroom. She told her father what happened and he said,
"Thank you for rescuing Lorinda. You are my brave girl." So Lorinda and Sally were good
friends and they lived happily ever after.
